Our Story
It all began in 2006 !! When two strangers departed India and destiny brought them together in Melbourne. They both were young, good looking (years ago of course) - yet full of enthusiasm, passion & carried a clear vision. As they were young, it was obvious they aspired to accomplish big dreams. One most important thing in common was the love for their food & culture. In the midst of the Melbourne hustle, while searching for a food joint not only to tickle their taste buds but to make them feel “Home away from Home” – The idea of Chaskah was conceived A thought which became their perception and the perception which is now a reality After a decade of research, experimenting & innovating with the authentic Indian cuisine, in 2016 they succeeded in putting together their own tested recipes to create what everyone now knows as “The Chaskah Today” - Reminiscent of our home, INDIA Chaskah means - Food Addiction We hope to bring some food on your table that reminds you of your roots!

A Symphony of Flavors at Chaskah Dining at Chaskah is a culinary journey that any food enthusiast would relish. From the moment we entered, the ambiance was inviting, and the service was nothing short of exceptional—attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely warm. The meal began with an array of appetizers that set the bar incredibly high. The Amritsari Fish was a standout—delicately crisp on the outside, tender and perfectly spiced within. The Chilly Chicken offered a delightful punch of heat, balanced beautifully with its tangy sauce. The Soy Chaap was an impressive vegetarian option, showcasing flavors that rival its meat counterparts. The Veg Chowmein delivered classic Indo-Chinese comfort, packed with freshness and a nostalgic street-style essence. The addition of Papdi Chaat and Golgappas added a refreshing burst of textures and flavors—a playful homage to authentic Indian street food. For the mains, the Zulmi Chicken was the highlight. Its bold, fiery flavors were masterfully tempered with a luxurious, velvety gravy—truly a dish that lives up to its name. The Paneer Lababdaar was equally stellar, with its rich, creamy tomato base and melt-in-your-mouth paneer. The Dal Makhni was sublime—slow-cooked to perfection, with a depth of flavor that speaks volumes of the chef’s expertise. Every dish was presented with care, and the ingredients tasted fresh and high-quality. It’s clear that Chaskah’s kitchen operates with both passion and precision. Chaskah is not just a restaurant—it’s an experience. With exceptional food, impeccable service, and a menu that pays homage to India’s diverse culinary heritage, it’s a destination I would highly recommend to anyone seeking an authentic and elevated Indian dining experience in Melbourne. Bravo, Chaskah— (Special thanks to Gaurav & Vedika for an Great experience) 👏
